Ceasefire

Ceasefire – Charity website design & strategic campaign microsite. Website redesign, UX strategy, audience-focused content structure. By Siân Jones - digital designer West Wales.

Website Redesign and Strategic Campaign Microsite

Ceasefire is a human rights organisation working to monitor, document and respond to civilian harm in conflict zones—particularly across the Middle East and North Africa. Their website plays a vital role in supporting advocacy efforts, securing funding, and offering resources to both policymakers and on-the-ground human rights defenders.

Ceasefire commissioned a full redesign of their website to better serve these multiple audiences and to support the launch of new initiatives including a multilingual documentation training course and a strategic campaign for 2025–2028.

Client testimonial

Siân has been brilliant to work with – inventive, flexible, and very good at creating striking design to match the organisation’s mission.

Project Overview

Ceasefire commissioned a full redesign of their website to better serve these multiple audiences and to support the launch of new initiatives including a multilingual documentation training course and a strategic campaign for 2025–2028.

My Role

I led the project from end to end, including:

  • A modern, user-friendly website redesign with improved structure and accessibility
  • Multilingual setup using WPML, enabling seamless Arabic-language versions of key content
  • Design and build of the Ceasefire Documenter Course – a self-guided e-learning platform for field-based human rights workers, including video tutorials, interactive modules, and certification
  • Creation of the Ceasefire Strategy 2025–2028 microsite, designed as a standalone campaign hub for donors, policymakers and the media
  • Optimised donation pathways and messaging to encourage engagement from individual supporters

Goals & Audiences

Key objectives:

  • Raise awareness of Ceasefire’s work and amplify civilian voices
  • Drive donations and funding support
  • Enable Arabic-speaking audiences to access training and advocacy resources
  • Provide clear, accessible information to policymakers and international organisations

Audiences served:

  • Policymakers and humanitarian organisations
  • Human rights workers and activists in the MENA region
  • Donors and funders
  • General public interested in global justice

Outcome

The new Ceasefire.org is clean, responsive and multilingual – designed to balance clarity with urgency. The bespoke online training course allows the organisation to scale its impact and reach documenters in the field, while the Strategy 2025–2028 microsite provides a focused, strategic message to institutional partners.

Through a thoughtful redesign and clear architecture, the site now supports Ceasefire’s advocacy, outreach and training initiatives with greater confidence and credibility.
