About me
I’ve been working independently as a designer and consultant for over 25 years. In that time I’ve seen the web evolve from a technical novelty into a critical part of how organisations communicate, sell and grow. That experience has shaped the way I approach digital problems: by understanding the underlying challenge before thinking about the solution.
My work often begins before the brief exists. Clients don’t always need a website or a rebrand – they need clarity. I help define the problem, challenge assumptions, shape the strategy, then design and build the solution. Whether working independently or as part of a small external team, I bring together strategic thinking and practical delivery from start to finish.
I’m particularly drawn to organisations with complex products, services or structures, where simplifying information and creating clarity can have the biggest impact. Whether through brand strategy, UX, design systems or bespoke WordPress websites, the common thread is helping organisations communicate more clearly and purposefully.
Many of my client relationships span years rather than individual projects. I prefer working as a trusted long-term partner rather than a one-off supplier, helping businesses evolve as their needs change. As a result, my public portfolio represents only a small part of what I do, as much of my work is ongoing or sits behind client logins.
I’m based in West Wales and work with clients across the UK.
How I work
Every project begins by answering four simple questions.
What are we trying to achieve?
Who are we trying to reach?
What makes this organisation different?
What problem are we actually trying to solve?
The answers shape everything that follows – the strategy, the structure, the design. I’ve found that the time spent on these questions at the start almost always saves significant time later, and often changes the direction of the project entirely.
I work remotely, communicate clearly and don’t believe in meetings for the sake of them.
